Basil ‘Italiano Classico’ – For Pesto, Pizza and Salads

Basil ‘Italiano Classico’ (Ocimum basilicum) is a traditional Genovese-style basil, considered one of the best choices for classic Italian flavours. This variety is an excellent choice for home growing, pots, balconies and greenhouses.

The full and aromatic flavour of ‘Italiano Classico’ is especially well suited for pesto, tomato and potato dishes, salads and finishing pizzas. Regular pinching helps the basil branch out and produce more fresh leaves for kitchen use.

Sow the seeds indoors all year round or outdoors from March to July when the temperature is above 20 °C. Basil grows best in a warm, bright and sunny location. Keep the growing medium evenly moist, but avoid excessive wetness.
