Coriander – Fresh Herb and Spice Plant

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is a versatile herb and spice plant valued for both its fresh leaves and seeds. The leaves are used fresh especially in salads, Asian cooking and many everyday dishes, while the seeds are suitable for smoked fish, lamb, bread, spice blends and desserts.

Sow the seeds from April to September in rows outdoors or in a growing bed. Thin the seedlings lightly so they have enough space to grow well. Coriander grows quickly and can produce harvests well into autumn.
